Brookfields School, Tilehurst ~ Wildlife area maintenance

Perhaps not the best time for pond work but there never seems to be a right time and without clearing some of the vegetation from the school's pond it could not be used by the students for dipping.

Elsewhere a Russian vine was attempting to invade the garden of a neighbouring house, not wishing to remove the entire vine in case of nesting birds we restricted ourselves to cutting it through at the base which should cause the plant to die back while continuing to provide shelter for any inhabitants.
