Bags of Lamium cleared by volunteers.
Lamium is the family of plants which includes Red and White Dead-nettle and Yellow Archangel. The variegated form is often used in gardens making 'an excellent ground cover plant' and it is this that has been introduced into the woodland at Clayfield, probably dumped with other garden waste, and now carpeting the woodland floor to the detriment of other native flora.
