Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve ~ Hedgelaying

At the end of 2010 we had started laying a hedge around a pond located on Rushey Way of which a section at the back of the site, around a parking area for the adjacent houses, remained to be completed. This was the task for the day.

This part of the hedge was rather sparse and by lunch excellent progress had been made aided by a good turnout of volunteers (Judith, Bob, Nicky, Jenny, Rikki, Phil, Dave, Barry, Mike and Richard with his back to the camera, John is taking the photo and Alan seems to have excused himself).

Our missing volunteer appears to have gone off to scrutinize the hedge that was laid earlier.

Hmmm.....

"Progressing nicely" seems to be the verdict.

Back to today's task, in fact it's finished and not looking at all bad.
