Moor Copse Nature Reserve ~ Brash clearance

This was one of CROW's rare visits to Moor Copse, the BBOWT reserve to the west of Reading situated between Tidmarsh and Theale. A variety of task's were to be undertaken following the winter's coppicing and felling, starting with the stacking of logs at least some of which will be used to make charcoal.

Next the layering of hazel stems in an attempt to propagate new stools.

Finally we started to create hurdles around the coppiced stools to protect the new growth from deer damage, in particular muntjac.
