For CROW's first visit to this site to clear a path along the edge of woodland leading to Hollybush Lane,we were joined by volunteers from BTCV. The woodland is part of the Englefield Estate and most of the trees had been felled about two years ago.
The path supposedly 200 metres in length, although it seemed considerably longer on the day, but only a metre wide in places needed to be widened, the overhanging bramble cut back and trip hazards in the form of debris from the felling operations removed.
Even with 15 volunteers it was a challenge but we were not to be daunted and by the end of the day the entire path had been cleared.
A very enjoyable task made all the more so by the BBQ lunch which had been organised for us by Jon Gibson from the Friends of Omer's Gully and Caroline Booth of WBC, through whom the task was arranged. Our thanks to both of them.
