Parts of the common which were once heathland have been overrun by birch. Over the last ten years CROW has been helping clear the birch allowing the heather and associated wildlife to re-establish.

Thanks to the bonfire the group was able to enjoy some Vivaldi for lunch.
Regenerating heather
Plenty of fungi were to be seen of which this was one of the more unusual.
Time to relax as the task draws to a close.
